The basic definition of glaucoma is to have a damaged optic nerve.  The optic nerve and nerve fibers normally transmit visual information to your brain but with glaucoma these delicate areas are damaged.  This causes reduced side vision until it finally ends up like your looking through a straw.  Although there are several causes of glaucoma to include high and normal pressure versions, there is treatment that can preserve your vision for many years to come.  This is a long term damaging process thereby called “silent thief of sight”.  Please let us screen and monitor your eyes to give you peace of mind and protect your eye sight.
